How to Navigate Scorpio Season & all the Fear it Brings

Scorpio Season

Boo! It’s Scorpio Season…also known as Spooky Season!

Scorpio is a water sign and as such it is a time for experiencing and expressing emotions. It may not seem so but Scorpio’s are very emotional, they just show it differently than other water signs.

As a fixed sign, it is the most energetically stable and dependable signs. Scorpio is ruled by the Pluto, planet of transformation and regeneration. This gives Scorpio that calm, cool air and a sense of mystery. It is also ruled by Mars, the planet of aggression and action which gives Scorpio that sense of fierceness.

Navigating Scorpio Season

Scorpio season can be a very intense time of the year being that it is ruled by Mars the planet of aggressive action and Pluto the planet of transformation, rebirth and subconscious fears. Add in Halloween, the thinning of the veil, election day and this year, a blue moon which is the second full moon of the month.

Now individually, each of these can be very exciting, but all together. Whew! Don’t be surprised if you and the people around you seem a little edgy and upset. So how do we safely navigate through this tense and edgy time of year?

Clear your space, energetically

Pick up some more sage and smudge. Then, smudge again. There’s no wrong way to smudge, so get it started. I offer homegrown, hand wrapped, sustainable Kitchen and Russian Sage sticks for just this reason.

This will help you by pushing out any extra negative energy you may pick up in your travels, or that may be brought in by others. Be sure to smudge yourself as well, sometimes the negative energy comes from within.

This has the added benefit of keeping the nasty spirits at bay. Everyone talks about the veil being thin and all your relatives and ancestors coming to visit. Don’t forget those aren’t the only people roaming around, knocking at your door. Spirit beings are a lot like human beings; not all of them are benevolent.

Face your Fears this Scorpio Season

I’m not talking about the obvious fears like spiders, heights and closed spaces. I’m talking about the deeper ones that manifest as fears of spiders, heights and closed spaces.

Scorpio energy encourages you to delve into the dark places, the taboo, and the controversial. It forces you to address the emotions that keep you stuck in that ever-tightening loop. Face those, feel into them, and let them go.

Sometimes you can’t let them go right away. That’s okay. The first steps to solving a problem is admitting you have a problem and identifying what that problem is. Harness the brave fearlessness that Scorpio season offers to free yourself. Those fears must die in order for you to be re-born. Carve out some time for meditation, journaling, divination and melt downs.

Embrace your Evolution

Scorpio energy is about transforming. Let go of those remnants of who you once were, drop some of that emotional baggage you’ve been hoarding. Doing so will free you to rise from the ashes in true Scorpio fashion.

Scorpio is the sign of the Phoenix therefore it is the sign that can help you take all that baggage your carrying around and burn it to ashes.

Scorpio is intense and powerful but not flashy. There’s no need to make a grand entrance and tell everyone. They will know. They’ll feel it.

Mythology

Scorpio is featured in the tale of Orion. Orion was a giant of a man; the son of Poseidon and Euryale. He was said to be the most handsome man on Earth. He befriended the Goddess Artemis and the two would often go hunting together which made her brother Apollo very jealous because those Greek gods has weird incest-y relationships.

Orion became full of ego at his hunting ability. He boasted to Artemis that he would kill every animal on earth. Gaia, the earth mother, was so irritated by his disregard for her creatures that she created a giant scorpion that killed Orion in battle. Zeus put the creature in the sky after the fateful battle.

Sun in Scorpio

Scorpio is intensely emotional and stoutly passionate. They feel deeply but also feels the need to hide that from most people. Aptly, Scorpio wears an armor like a scorpions shell and can lash out if provoked. They love to debate and prefer intelligent and honest partnerships.

Sun in Scorpio makes great leaders both because of that fixed sign dependability and also possesses innate empathic ability that allows them to read people and intuitively know how to influence either a single person or a crowd.

It takes them a long time to trust someone but once they do they are the most loyal of all friends. A Scorpio can be your strongest ally or your worst enemy.

Scorpios are all about being authentic even if ‘real’ isn’t pretty or pleasant. They don’t back down from controversy and lean right into taboo subjects.

Moon in Scorpio

People born with their moon in Scorpio try to act calm, cool and collected but they have intense emotions churning just under the surface. If left unchecked, those emotions can bubble up and manifest into erratic behavior and poor choices. They eventually learn the only way to deal with the emotions is to face them head on.

Moon in Scorpio have a penchant for understanding the full emotional spectrum of the human conditions. This often pulls them in the world of psychological extremes. They are magnetic, ambitious and intense.

Scorpio Rising

For Scorpio Rising folks, life seems like a series of obstacles that force them to learn through the power of transformation. To others, they may seem mysterious and secretive but they possess a charming, magnetic quality that draws people in. Jealousy is often a problem in their early years and it is important for them to work through that head on.

Karmically, Scorpio Rising is tasked with transforming darkness into light through their own journey of healing and transformation.

The next few weeks will most definitely be intense and demanding but stick with it, give yourself some down time to recharge and trust that next month will be better.
